Piotrkowska Street - the heart of Łódź

Piotrkowska Street is one of Łódź’s most recognisable symbols and the true heart of the city. At about 4.2 kilometres it is one of the longest shopping streets in Europe, combining history, architecture, culture, food and entertainment. Its character comes above all from richly decorated 19th- and 20th-century tenement houses, palaces and manufacturers’ villas.

Today Piotrkowska is above all a lively city promenade. Along the street and in its many courtyards you will find restaurants, cafés, pubs, clubs, galleries and independent shops. One of its most distinctive spots is OFF Piotrkowska, set in the former Franciszek Ramisch factory, combining food, culture, design and creative business.

A walk along Piotrkowska is also a chance to discover the city’s art and history - the Łódź Walk of Fame, the sculptures of the Gallery of Great Łódź Residents, and unusual courtyards and art installations such as the mirror-covered Rose Passage. It is also a natural stage for the city’s key events - concerts, festivals, parades and fairs.
